When the pandemic started around the world three years ago, air travel was also hit hard. Gradually, the airlines canceled their flight schedules, in the end hardly anyone flew – and the manufacturers of aircraft and their suppliers have suffered badly. But now flying is back: In 2022, air traffic worldwide increased by almost two thirds compared to the previous year and thus reached 68.5 percent of the pre-crisis level of 2019, the world airline association IATA announced last week. In 2023 things should continue to improve, especially since China has now opened its borders again.
