After the heaviest rainfall in decades, air traffic at Dubai airport is still not running smoothly again. Impairments continue to occur.

As a result of the heavy rain in the United Arab Emirates, there is a crash at the international airport in Dubai still experiencing delays and irregularities. Due to ongoing disruptions, the number of landings will be limited for 48 hours, the airport said in a post at midday.

The Emirati news agency Wam reported that the airport continues to recommend that passengers only show up at the airport once their flight has been finally confirmed. Emirates airline said it would not process any passengers until early Saturday morning.

Earlier this week, the United Arab Emirates experienced its heaviest rainfall in decades. According to reports, one person died – an elderly man died when his vehicle was swept away by the water. In neighboring Oman, at least 20 people were reported dead as a result of the rains.
