One of the leading Spanish airline companies – Air Europa – partnered with blockchain company TravelX. To introduce the world’s first non-fungible token (NFT) airfare, users purchasing the collectible will board a special flight between Madrid and Miami on November 29, 2022.
This feature is named NFTickets It will be available for purchase on the TravelX platform. The first auction is on April 11 and takes place every two weeks.
TravelX explains that tickets work like traditional NFT tokens. Transactions are recorded on the blockchain. And holders can show their collectibles and get matching airfares.
Air Europa and its partners said: This will make the buyer “Opportunity to collect the history of the travel industry and participate in the first blockchain-backed flight.” It will take off from Madrid on November 29, 2022 and land in Miami.
Carlos Betancourt – the artist who designed the artwork – says the initiative is an experiment with the boundaries of art and technology.
The NFT token will be built on Algorand’s blockchain, with Facundo Diaz – co-founder of TravelX – praising Algorand’s eco-focused ecosystem. as it is completely carbon neutral.
