A crew member of the “Aida Perla” has been missing for more than 24 hours. The man is said to have fallen overboard in the English Channel. The British Coast Guard has now announced that the search has been stopped.

The search for the missing crew member of the cruise ship “Aida Perla” has been stopped. This is what a British press spokeswoman said Coast guard HM Coastguard star-Request communicated. According to the press spokeswoman, the search was ended on Monday morning. She did not provide any further information and referred to the press office of “Aida Cruises”. The cruise company has not yet sent out a press release announcing the end of the search.

The man is said to have fallen overboard in the English Channel on Sunday morning. A coast guard spokesman said the rescue workers were alerted at around 8:55 a.m. (local time). A helicopter, an airplane and several lifeboats reportedly started the search.

“Aida Perla” involved in search

“Aida Perla” also took part in the campaign. However, she was released from the search at nightfall, as the Rostock-based company Aida Cruises announced. We are in close contact with the family of the missing person.

With the current water temperature of around 17 degrees Celsius in the English Channel, the missing person’s chances of survival after more than 24 hours in the water are very low.

The ship was traveling from Hamburg towards La Coruña in Spain. It is expected there on October 24th around 9:00 a.m.
