Jordan: First air force plane landed for Gaza aid

The air force is scheduled to drop aid supplies via parachutes over the Gaza Strip this week. The first machine for this has arrived in Jordan.
The German Air Force has a first transport aircraft for dropping Aid supplies moved to Jordan via the Gaza Strip. “The first plane landed safely in Jordan. We are unloading the material we brought with us and preparing for the upcoming flights,” the Air Force wrote on Platform X on Thursday evening and added “Air Drop for Gaza.” Gaza).
Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD) gave the green light for the order on Wednesday. The aid supplies are to be loaded into Jordan and the drops are to begin this week. The Bundeswehr is providing two C-130 Hercules transport aircraft, each of which could transport up to 18 tons of load.
According to aid organizations, the situation of the people in the Gaza Strip is becoming increasingly desperate. According to the UN, there is a risk of a hunger crisis if aid deliveries by truck are not increased. Around 2.2 million Palestinians live in the coastal strip between Israel and Egypt. There is now criticism of the Israeli military’s actions from many countries. The federal government had already appealed to Israel to improve the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army is waging war there against the Islamist terrorist organization Hamas and allied groups after they carried out the worst massacres in Israel’s history and murdered more than 1,200 people. According to the Hamas health authority, more than 30,000 people are said to have died in the Israeli air and ground attacks, the area is badly damaged and hundreds of thousands are fleeing there.
