Aid for the elderly in Würmtal with an extended range – district of Munich

“Helping people individually and tangibly” – that is the motto of the non-profit association “Seniorenhilfe Würmtal – Heim Wohnen”. The association itself is an old acquaintance, for more than 15 years it has been operating in the Würmtal under the name “Betreutes Wohnenheim”. The name was changed a few months ago, and this has now been confirmed at a general meeting. It was emphasized that the name change is also accompanied by content, i.e. an extended range of help. “In contrast to the classic nursing services, with which we were often confused, as well as the possibilities of the large social associations, our association is characterized by its ability to want and be able to respond individually and specifically to the diverse needs of our clients,” explained Britta Acquistapace, the executive director of the association.

The growing popularity in the Würmtal communities is also reflected in the number of new clients, with 21 new care contracts being concluded within a year. This may also be due to the new offers: There is more support for people suffering from dementia, including relief for family members caring for them. Everyday support was set up for older people who need support in various situations – such as small gardening jobs. For a few months, a visiting service has also been offered in old people’s homes, as well as advice on all sorts of social issues, driving services, escorting to doctors – an “all-round package”, as chairwoman Karin Wolf says. The association is financially supported by the municipalities of Planegg, Gräfelfing, Krailling, the Kraillinger Schober Foundation and the district of Munich. In the elections, Karin Wolf was confirmed as chair and Friedrich Giehl as deputy.
