For the coronation of King Charles III. the “Beefeaters” in the Tower of London have received new uniforms. They mark Charles’ reign.

Britain continues to prepare for the coronation of King Charles III. (74) on May 6th. As reported by the British “Daily Mail”., the traditional “Beefeaters” in the Tower of London have also received new uniforms as part of the preparations for the festive occasion. From today, the robes of the 35 tower attendants, who mainly act as tourist guides, will be adorned with a large royal crown in red above the writing “CIIIR” – in honor of King Charles III.

“Proud Moment”

According to the Daily Mail, the new uniforms for the officially so-called Yeoman Warders of His Majesty’s Royal Palace and Fortress the Tower of London are said to have been made by a team of 40 tailors from the traditional company Kashket & Partners of London. They were paid for by the Historic Royal Palaces charity, which runs the Tower of London. Each of the robes is said to have taken 30 hours of work.

“It will be an honor and a proud moment for all of us [diese neuen Uniformen] to wear during this special week,” said Chief Yeoman Warder Pete McGowran. In the grounds of the Tower of London, “The Queen’s House” has also been renamed “The King’s House” to mark the beginning of the reign of King Charles III mark.
