When your stomach is growling, you don’t have time to waste. These quick recipes can be prepared in a maximum of 30 minutes without much effort and taste incredibly good. Perfect for the end of the day.
Shakshuka The original version of the Levantine dish usually requires a lot of time in the oven. But if you’re in a hurry, the preparation time can be halved. By the way, Shakshuka tastes particularly delicious served with fresh parsley and flatbread.
Ingredients for four servings
3 red peppers
1 large white onion
4 cloves of garlic
3 tbsp olive oil
3 tbsp tomato paste
800 ml peeled tomatoes
1 dash of white wine vinegar
1 pinch of sugar
1 teaspoon paprika powder, sweet
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
Salt pepper
4 to 6 eggs
fresh, flat-leaf parsley
preparation
1. Clean, wash and dice the peppers. Peel the onion and garlic and dice finely. Wash the parsley and shake dry. Pluck off the leaves.
2. Heat the oil in a large, ovenproof pan. Briefly sauté the garlic, onion and tomato paste. Add the pepper and fry again. Deglaze with the tomatoes and bring to the boil briefly.
3. Season with vinegar, paprika powder, cayenne pepper and salt and pepper. Cover and simmer for about 5 minutes.
4. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees top/bottom heat. Crack the eggs into the pan. Bake in the hot oven for about 5 to 10 minutes until the eggs are cooked.
5. Serve with pita bread and fresh parsley.
