After the death of the Queen, fashion houses like Burberry are canceling planned shows at London Fashion Week as a show of respect.

The death of Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) has implications for London Fashion Week, which begins September 16. Long-established British fashion house Burberry is canceling its September 17 show in London “as a sign of respect”. as “Independent” reports. Fashion designer Raf Simons (54) has also canceled his presentation, which was supposed to take place on September 16th. A statement said: “As the country enters a period of official mourning, we will pause at this time of great sadness.”

The British Fashion Council asks for respect and no parties

According to the current status, the London Fashion Week will take place, but in a much slimmed-down form. The British Fashion Council, which organizes the event, asked all designers in an official statement to “respect the mood of the nation”. For example, pictures of the fashion events should only be published after the end of the national period of mourning. Parties should also be postponed or canceled as a result. Certainly there will be no shows on September 18, the likely date of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.
