On Monday around 9 p.m., a group of around fifty ultra-right activists, some of whom were hooded, gathered for an unauthorized demonstration in the center of Chambéry, reports the Dauphine Libere. Videos circulating on social networks show the demonstrators chanting far-right slogans under the surveillance of a few police officers.
“There was, apparently, this group which would belong to the extreme right movement which was taken to task by another group”, explained the prosecutor of Chambéry Pierre-Yves Michau. A man was injured by “hammer blows to the head” during the brawl. He was hospitalized but his life is not in danger. The prosecution did not report any arrest in connection with this violence, but a procedure was opened for “aggravated violence”, added the prosecutor without further details.
Fearing new clashes, the Savoy prefecture has just issued an order to ban demonstrations this Tuesday evening, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. According to information relayed by France Blue, “new calls for violence and confrontation have been detected on social networks”, indicates the prefecture. “They are likely to lead to gatherings which could lead to serious disturbances of public order and clashes with the police”, add the state services.

On Saturday, around thirty declared supporters of the ultra-right had already marched through Chambéry, escorted by a few police officers, after two nights of violence and degradation in connection with the death of young Nahel, according to the local press.
Sunday evening, it was in Lyon that around fifty ultra-right activists demonstrated in front of the Town Hall before being “repelled by the use of tear gas and then pursued until total dispersion”, according to the Rhône prefecture, who called this gathering a communication operation. In videos, in particular relayed by the Lyon identity group The walls, we can hear slogans like: “We are at home, France to the French”.

A man suspected of being close to the ultra-right arrested with a gun in his car
On Saturday, two men aged 33 and 39, one of whom was suspected “of being close to the ultra-right movement and already convicted several times by the courts” according to the prosecution, were arrested after hitting another vehicle in a town. from the east of Lyon.
The police found in their car a 12-gauge shotgun, loaded with three cartridges, and a box of 111 cartridges of the same caliber. The two were indicted in particular for “willful violence with a weapon because of true or supposed belonging to an alleged race or a specific religion” and “transport and possession of a prohibited weapon”, according to the prosecution.
