TELEVISION – “But where did Inès Reg go? » On Twitter, Internet users questioned themselves during the prime of Dance with the stars, this Friday, April 5. After her dance, the comedian disappeared from the stage. Her performance was highly scrutinized by viewers, after her clash with singer Natasha St-Pier, also a candidate on the show.
Inès Reg first performed an explosive and sunny choreography alongside her partner Christophe Licata. Both danced to the title Waka Waka by Shakira, with one small exception: this week each star was coached by a judge from the show. Final objective: succeed in dancing in three with him on the set. Inès Reg was therefore accompanied by the sparkling Mel Charlot, a new judge who recently arrived during this 2024 season.
Their performance was praised by the three other judges, who awarded scores of 8 for Chris Marques and Jean-Marc Généreux, and even a 9 for Fauve. Despite this excellent score of 25 points, Inès Reg and Christophe Licata did not manage to climb to the top of the ranking and therefore had to submit to public votes to remain in the adventure.
Discomfort and cancellation of “face-to-face”
This is where things got complicated. Host Camille Combal announced to the audience: “ For the moment, there is no Inès. Let me explain: she felt a little uncomfortable in the dressing rooms. Everything is fine. She’s cooling off, getting some fresh air, we’re giving her a little sparkling water and she’ll be fine, she’ll be back with us, I assure you. »
A few dozen minutes later, during the “Face-to-face”, Camille Combal announces that the star will ultimately not be able to dance again. “ Inès Reg felt a little unwell, the doctor judged that she was unfit to finish this show and to be able to perform her face-to-face dance. She must rest peacefully.” he explained. The show’s doctor later indicated: “ She felt really, really bad. She’s doing better but not enough for me to think she’ll be able to return to the set tonight. I had to make this decision against his wishes. »
“In these cases, the rules are very clear: the celebrity and their partner may, within the limit of one time, not be subject to public votes, in the event of a medical contraindication. So this means that you cannot vote for Inès this evening,” Camille Combal explained to the audience. Inès Reg therefore escaped public judgment, discreetly seated in the stands. It was ultimately Adeline Toniutti who was eliminated, with 17% of the public votes. Natasha St-Pier received 52% of the votes and therefore remains on the show.
