After the body was found near Berg: Kripo tracks down suspects in Hungary – Starnberg

It must have been a horrifying moment for the three hikers who, on January 16, discovered a woman’s body that had already clearly decomposed in a small wooded area in Berg am Starnberger See. The still young Labrador mix “Beauty” had escaped from its owner and had not responded to any calls. The dog found the dead body about 35 meters away from the chapel path, not far from a parking lot. A good two months after this terrible find, the police have now arrested the partner of the 25-year-old victim in Hungary. According to investigators, it is a 26-year-old. The man is accused of killing his girlfriend and half burying her in the Berger forest, as the police headquarters in Oberbayern-Nord announced on Thursday. There is “urgent suspicion” based on numerous indications.

The arrest was preceded by extensive research on the Internet. Because the victim, Luca V., whose identity could be clarified by DNA comparison, had worked as a prostitute and offered her services across Europe on several escort portals – according to the police under the pseudonyms “Maya” and “Alina”. According to the findings of the investigators, the approximately 1.60 meter tall and very petite woman stayed with her boyfriend in Munich from November 22 last year and is said to have pursued her profession there. She is said to have rented a room in a Munich hotel. It is possible that she died there. Because one thing is certain for the Fürstenfeldbruck criminal police, which has taken over the investigation under the direction of the Munich II public prosecutor’s office: the place where the body was found in Berg is not the scene of the crime. This has yet to be determined, as the saying goes.

The perpetrator may have wanted to sink the body in Lake Starnberg

What prompted the alleged perpetrator to bring the body to Berg is currently just as unclear. Did he want to sink the dead body in Lake Starnberg and had this project failed on site? Was he then under time pressure? The head of the responsible police, Manfred Frei, did not want to comment on a request from the SZ. He also refused other information, such as the cause of the woman’s death, for “investigative tactical reasons”. However, he confirmed that the man now suspected of crimes is a Nigerian who grew up in Hungary, had his main focus of life there until the end and had a relationship with the dead woman. According to Frei, what motive he might have had to kill his girlfriend is now being investigated, as are other circumstances that might have led to the crime.

The 26-year-old would have to be extradited to Germany first. According to the police headquarters in Oberbayern-Nord, he was located in Budapest on Tuesday and arrested by the Hungarian authorities. The Munich district court had previously issued an international arrest warrant at the request of the Munich II public prosecutor’s office. Officials from the “Kapellenweg” investigative group had traveled to Hungary specifically for this purpose, but the man was arrested, as is customary, by the national homicide commission in Budapest. Kripochef Frei described the cooperation on the way of legal assistance as “excellent”: “We received excellent support from our Hungarian colleagues.” The suspect was brought before an investigating judge by the local police authorities and is currently in extradition custody. “If he agrees to extradition, he could be in Germany in about ten days,” says Frei. “If not, the extradition process will take about 30 days.”

Nevertheless, the police hope to clarify further details and open questions in this homicide in the meantime. Investigators are asking for the public’s help. Information from your customers, i.e. your suitors, should be of particular interest. Anyone who has had contact with Luca V. or her partner and can provide information about her stay in Munich and the surrounding area from November 22nd should contact the investigators on 08141/61 23 30. In individual cases, a confidential treatment of the information is checked, the presidency emphasizes explicitly. For better identification, the police point out that Luca V. was tattooed several times, including the words “Rebelle” on her stomach. Suspicious perceptions from November 25th in the Berger Kapellenweg area or the soccer field and skater park are also in demand. The police also want to know if anyone has seen a black Audi A 5 coupe with the registration number M-VZ 2594 in Munich or in the Berg area. The couple is said to have been traveling with this rental vehicle. So far, however, the investigators have not been able to establish a connection to Berg, either with the victim or the suspect.
