“Trafficking and lawlessness areas clearly unfavorable to [nos] activities” and a “low-income” clientele who therefore cannot afford to buy a car. The arguments put forward by the Renault group to close the Vaulx-en-Velin site at the end of the year did not really convince the authorities, starting with the prefect of the Rhône, delegate for defense and security.
Ivan Bouchier sent, Tuesday evening, a letter addressed to the management of the group and co-signed with the mayor of the commune Hélène Geoffroy. A missive in which both demand explanations.
“No alert sent to the police”
“Without any prior exchange having been established with the services of the State and the municipality, we learned of this decision through the press”, they jointly regret, strongly deploring “the terms used” at the regard to the population: “We condemn the intellectual facility consisting in stigmatizing the municipality and its inhabitants to justify this decision”.
Ivan Bouchier and Hélène Geoffroy are also surprised to have never been informed of security problems. “No alert in this sense has been sent, neither to the national police, nor to the municipal services”, they point out, eager to meet the representatives of the automotive group.
