A bath that these animals would have preferred to avoid. This Monday evening, 71 sheep were surprised by the rising waters of the Garonne in Lake Hierle in Labarthe Inardsouth of the Upper Garonne.
The poor beasts were totally stuck in the middle of the river before the firefighters were called urgently. According to Departmental fire and rescue service de la Haute-Garonne, a team specializing in water rescue and animal risk went to the scene to ensure the transfer of the sheep to the bank.
Rescuers were able to bring all the sheep safe and sound to shore. More fear than harm.
