After the major attack by the Islamist Hamas from the Gaza Strip, emergency services found around 260 bodies at a festival site in southern Israel. Israeli media report this unanimously, citing the Zaka rescue service. Hamas fighters attacked participants in a music festival and abducted numerous people from there to the Gaza Strip. Israeli media cite eyewitnesses who spoke of a massacre. The festival took place near Kibbutz Reim, a town in the Negev desert a few kilometers from the Gaza border.
Videos are circulating online that show how the revelers flee from the attackers’ shots. You can see dusty, dry ground, the sun is just rising, the sky is colored purple. People run to leave the festival site and screams can be heard.
The Israeli newspaper Times of Israel reported by Eyewitnesses who spoke of a massacre. The terrorists moved across the area, surrounded people and shot them.

A young woman from Germany is believed to be among those abducted from the festival. According to her family, the 22-year-old has been missing since she attended the festival in Kibbutz Reim on Saturday, as the woman’s cousin confirmed to the SZ. The family has not yet had any news about her whereabouts or whether she is still alive or not, it was initially said.
After news of the attack, the missing woman’s family tried to reach them but received no response. The cousin confirmed SZ-Inquiry a corresponding report from the Washington Post. A video is circulating on social media showing a young woman in the back of a truck with several fighters. She appears to be unconscious. In another video, a woman confirms that she is the mother of the missing woman and that she has recognized her daughter. She says her daughter was kidnapped with a group of tourists and also shows the daughter’s passport.
The Supernova Festival took place on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th October. The operators describe it on their website as a psy-trance music festival. It should embody values such as free love and environmental protection. The “Universo Parallelo” festival series originally comes from Brazil and took place in Israel for the first time this year.
