Representatives of the government, business and trade unions met for talks to cushion the consequences of the crisis for companies and employees. The Union is harsh on the results.

The Union has criticized the results of a meeting on inflation with employers and unions in the Chancellery as completely inadequate.

“The so-called concerted action was an air number,” said deputy CDU leader Carsten Linnemann of the “Rheinische Post”. “The tax-free one-off payment has already been decided – and now Scholz is simply announcing it again,” Linnemann reprimanded. “In addition, Scholz is setting up another commission that is not supposed to come up with ideas for the energy crisis until October.”

He expects the Chancellor to tackle the problems now “and not push them further into the fall,” said the CDU politician. “The traffic light still does not provide any structural relief for small and medium-sized companies,” Linnemann complained.

The chairman of the CDU employee wing CDA, Karl-Josef Laumann, in turn fears that the tax and duty-free bonus of up to 3,000 euros that is provided as an option will only be paid to around half of the employees.

“It will once again become clear how divided our labor market is. Where there are collective agreements, things will go well there, the employees will receive a special payment. The other employees are staring in the tube – and that is now every second employee”, said Laumann the editorial network Germany. He referred to an analysis by the Hans Böckler Foundation, according to which this was similar to the Corona premium.
