Chance Perdomo’s death has immediate consequences for the second season of “Gen V.” This has been postponed “until further notice”.

Fans of the series “Gen V”, the spin-off of the successful superhero series “The Boys”, have to cope with the death of actor Chance Perdomo. The actor who played the character Andre Anderson died in a motorcycle accident at just 27 years old. As the industry website “Deadline” reports, the timing of the accident adds another tragic component: the cast was actually supposed to meet this weekend for a first reading of the scripts for the upcoming second season. Instead, Perdomo’s colleagues had to wake up to the shocking news of his death.

According to the report, filming for the new episodes of the Prime Video production should have started in Toronto on April 8th. Now Deadline reports that filming has been postponed “until further notice.” Perdomo’s character is one of the six main heroes of the series and therefore plays a central role in the plot.

Circumstances not yet clear

Perdomo’s spokesman told the US site “Variety” confirmed: “It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of Chance Perdomo’s untimely passing following a motorcycle accident.” The exact cause of the accident and the location of the incident have not yet been disclosed. However, the authorities are said to have reported that no other people were involved.

The spokesman also said that the family of the deceased would request privacy “as they mourn the loss of their beloved son and brother.” The “Gen V” producers also commented on Perdomo’s death in a statement. They cannot believe the tragedy, it says. They describe the actor as “always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented artist and, above all, a very friendly, lovable person.”
