Stormy times for the traffic lights! After the Federal Constitutional Court’s ruling on the federal government’s special funds, top politicians from the SPD, Greens and FDP are maneuvering from one crisis meeting to the next.
Exception: Wolfgang Kubicki (71), Vice President of the Bundestag and FDP deputy leader. He spent eight days sailing through the Caribbean Sea on the luxury cruise ship “Europa 2” (cabin price from 7,000 euros per week) – and there he dealt a lot against his own coalition partner.
Kubicki’s blasphemy attack: During a talk show in front of a cruise audience with the presenter Sabine Christiansen (66), Kubicki protested against the heating law of Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck (54, Green).

Kubicki found that there was simply no more money for the state funding of 27,000 euros per heating replacement. That’s why the heating law needs to go away now. “Or Habeck has to go.” It was a blunt demand for his resignation.
When Kubicki disembarks in Miami (USA) today, things could be stormy for him. Kubicki skipped the FDP state party conference in his home town of Schleswig-Holstein on Saturday for the luxury trip.
And: In return for his talk show blasphemies, Kubicki and his companion were allowed to travel on “Europe 2” for free.
Presenter Christiansen’s company covered the costs of the Caribbean trip. Kubicki doesn’t know how much money he saved with this. The amount of the travel costs “is currently beyond my knowledge”.
A Bundestag Vice President gets paid for a cruise for a talk show appearance?
Kubicki justifies himself: “I was invited as the author of the book ‘Say what’s going on’ and not as Vice President of the German Bundestag.”
On board the luxury steamer, however, the FDP man was NOT advertised to the guests as an author. The program announcement expressly stated that Kubicki, as Vice President of the Bundestag, spoke about the “earthquake in Berlin:
The traffic light coalition is facing a dramatic test.
