Nothing seems to be able to stop it anymore. After the Eurovision Junior 2019 and the incredible success of her title Bim Bam toi (more than 85 million views), the Niçoise Carla has just released, at just 16 years old, thirteen new titles. Only one year after his first solo album.
Everything is going very quickly for you …
It is true that after the Eurovision junior and Bim bam you, everything accelerated. There was a phenomenon that overwhelmed me. It was absolutely crazy. Today, I’m doing a lot of things and it’s really a dream come true. I am delighted to share this very personal second album.
His name is Without filter. Does this mean that the first had one?
I was necessarily younger, less mature. This one really grew with me. I co-wrote some songs. With everything we’ve been through because of the Covid, a certain inspiration came to me. There is in particular the title We will meet each other again, for my grandmother. I was also able to work with absolutely incredible authors and composers like Quentin Mosimann, Tibz. I was really able to discuss with them what I wanted, the themes I wanted to address.
You sing in spanish in the song Loca, with Augustin Galiana. You are also the first French artist to integrate the online game Fornite with Bim bam you. Are you aiming for an international career?
These are opportunities that I was not expecting at all and which indeed open up us internationally. With the Eurovision junior, we had already been able to reach a lot of countries. Besides, Bim bam you is gold single in France but also in Europe. Spain is a country that follows me a lot. We do a lot of promotion there. And I wanted to put some of my origins in this album [sa mère est mexicaine]. I speak English, French and Spanish, but I still stay focused on France. Afterwards, if there are any proposals, we’ll see.
With the crisis, you couldn’t defend your first album on stage. Will this be the case for this one?
Yes, it was a real loss. The tour was due to take place this year. It is postponed to 2022 and we will present a best-of of both albums. Since Eurovision Junior, I can’t wait to get back on stage. Live streams are good, but they’re still not the same.
Could you also branch out into TV? At the movie theater ?
I can not say anything [rires]. I have lots of great projects coming up for 2022. I can’t wait to share them with you, but it’s still too early to talk about them.
