The frustration at FC Bayern after the embarrassing cup exit in Saarbrücken is great. National player Thomas Müller is disturbed by the reaction of his teammates.

National soccer player Thomas Müller has after the Cup defeat at 1. FC Saarbrücken criticized his teammates for their behavior towards their own fans after the game. “We will also discuss this internally, why our fans are rightly angry, regardless of the game. We have to show a different face so that we show our fans the necessary respect when they crowd the block here away from home,” said Müller after the 1:2 on Wednesday evening on ARD. Müller later apologized explicitly to the fans on his Instagram account.

Bayern fans ignored by players

In addition to Müller, only a few players went to the fans who had traveled with them after the game and thanked them for their support. Bayern had previously failed in the second round of the DFB Cup for the third time in four years. The last cup victory was in the 2019/20 season. “It’s a brutal blow for us that we are eliminated in the second round of the cup every year,” said Müller: “Of course that’s anything but what we want.”

Müller was already looking ahead to the duel with Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. Maybe the classic is now the right game to put things right again, the striker wrote on Instagram.
