After an altercation, a teacher grabs and hits a student

The Ploufragan apprentice training center, near Saint-Brieuc (Côtes-d’Armor), was the scene of a violent incident involving a student and his teacher on September 8. The scene, filmed with a mobile phone, took place during a first-aid worker (SST) training course. At the end of the course, a 15-year-old apprentice, who had been sent to supervised study earlier because of his behavior, wanted to explain himself to his teacher. But the situation quickly escalated and an altercation broke out in the classroom.

After grabbing the student, the teacher then violently hit him. “Three headbutts”, according to some testimonies. On the video, that 20 minutes was able to consult, we see the teacher physically attacking the student. But the scene is rather vague, and it is impossible to specify the nature and the number of blows carried by the professor.

The teacher on sick leave

Asked by 20 minutes, Pascal Cadieu, director of the CFA of the Chamber of Trades and Crafts of Brittany, confirms this “condemnable” incident which requires “a strong disciplinary sanction”. He assures that an incident report was written in stride and that occupational medicine was seized. The professor has since been on sick leave. On his return, he will be summoned before the disciplinary council of the establishment which will decide on any sanctions.

The student was expelled from the establishment and redirected to another CFA in Morbihan. He did not file a complaint following the violence. The management of CFA is considering doing so after the circulation of anonymous letters suggesting that it would have tried to cover up the incident.
