A candidate of the National Rally (RN) for the departmental in Corrèze was caught by a tweet posted in 2017. The RN withdrew on Tuesday the nomination of Danièle Delavaud who will be convened with a view to a possible exclusion, after a publication where she mentioned the fact of “blowing up” mosques, we learned from local authorities on Friday.

The far-right party withdrew the investitures of Danièle Delavaud and her spouse Jacky who were standing respectively as holder and substitute in the canton of Uzerche, an AFP correspondent learned from the departmental delegate of the Rassemblement National Valéry Elophe, confirming information from radio France bleu Limousin.

“Summoned as soon as possible”

“It’s a disappointment, but I cannot tolerate this kind of unacceptable remarks which are not in the image of the RN”, justified the local manager, specifying that he did not know what was happening to this candidacy, already validated in prefecture. He said he alerted the national authorities after the discovery at the beginning of the week of the candidate’s old tweets. The latter “will be called as soon as possible” with her spouse before the party’s conflict commission in Nanterre, which can pronounce an exclusion against them, said Valéry Elophe.

In these tweets published in October and November 2017, notably in response to Nadine Morano (LR), we can read: “Stop building mosques, I’m okay with blowing them up”, “Flash ball… .. ne you do not hamper the CRS bomb them you have the support of the French (sic) ”. Or again: “Back to the village, the weather is fine and good … the sun is hotter there than at home and all these associations to be dissolved … they are straining the budget of the municipalities (sic)”, according to captures from the account which was inaccessible on Friday.

“I didn’t even know she had a Twitter account. I had no idea at all that she could have made these tweets, ”assured Valéry Elophe, delegate of the RN in Corrèze. Questioned at the microphone of France Bleu Limousin, the person concerned regretted that this decision came “five years later”. “If they had seen it before, they would have warned me, I would have deleted it […]. Of course, I am very upset that I did that. I did not have the maturity that I have today, since I have been an activist, now since 2017, ”she declared on the radio.
