After 11 years of absence, the “Totally Spies!” » are making their comeback on Gulli

They’re coming back for good! The most popular spy trio of the 2000s is back in action: Totally spies !a French animated series with worldwide success, returns Sunday morning on Gulli (M6 group) for a seventh season brought up to date, 11 years after the previous one broadcast on TF1.

The franchise launched in 2001, and inspired by James Bond and the Spice Girls, has undergone a makeover to “project” its characters “into a world that has changed”, explained to AFP the producer of season 7, Benoit Di Sabatino, head of Banijay’s youth branch.

And for good reason, we will find Sam, Clover and Alex, teenagers leading a double life as secret agents of Woohp – the organization for the protection of humanity. Always decked out in green, red and yellow jumpsuits, the heroines migrated from Beverly Hills to Singapore.

Added to this fresh paint job, a new credits and a new boss, replacing the former boss, Jerry, retired but still present. Other new features? A slew of gadgets and a pronounced interest in ecology…

“The Spies are 80% what everyone knows, they haven’t changed,” assures the one who called on a director and screenwriters already working on previous seasons. Enough to satisfy early fans of “30 to 35 year olds” and a new audience among “6-10 year olds”, hopes the producer. “I wanted to relaunch them but with, I hope, subtlety, so that it is just the extension of a success which has not been unworthy for twenty years”.

The series aired in 220 territories and 60 languages, with 156 episodes produced from 2001 to 2013.
