In Kabul, a detonation occurred in a diplomatic quarter. There is no official information about possible fatalities, but a local hospital speaks of dead and injured.

There has been a massive explosion in a diplomatic district in the Afghan capital Kabul. An interior ministry spokesman told Afghan news channel Tolo News on Friday that the detonation occurred near a mosque as worshipers were leaving the building after prayers.

Eyewitnesses reported that a magnetic bomb had exploded. There is no official information on the dead so far. However, a hospital says that four dead and others injured have already been admitted.

So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the explosion. Since the militant Islamist Taliban took power in August 2021, there have been multiple attacks on civilians by the Islamic State terrorist militia.
