AfD: The economy should act – economy

Evonik boss Christian Kullmann calls on business to take a position against the right. He is right: There is a historical responsibility to oppose the AfD – and a manifest financial self-interest in doing so.

Christian Kullmann goes on the offensive. The head of the chemical company Evonik demands that the economy must show its colors – against the “brown-infused” AfD. This initiative is unusual because German managers and entrepreneurs usually hold back on politically sensitive issues. Kullmann is likely to attract some criticism. But the company leader is absolutely right: the German economy has a historic responsibility to slow the rise of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) before it gains too much power and undermines democracy and prosperity.
