High-ranking AfD politicians are said to have met with well-known right-wing extremists and entrepreneurs in a Potsdam hotel in November. According to research, anti-constitutional plans were also said to be on the agenda.

The case could see further movement in a possible Bring AfD ban proceedings: According to information from the non-profit research association “Correctiv”, high-ranking representatives of the AfD met with neo-Nazis in Potsdam to talk about a project allegedly referred to as a “master plan”.

A speaker for party leader Alice Weidel, an AfD member of the Bundestag and the AfD parliamentary group leader in an East German state parliament are said to have been present at the conspiratorial meeting in a hotel on Lehnitzsee. In addition, several well-known right-wing extremists such as a prominent head of the extreme right-wing Identitarian Movement (IB). According to the research, a businessman who made money with, among other things, a baked goods and burger chain was invited. A total of around 20 people are said to have taken part in the meeting in November.

One of the goals of the group: to collect money for political purposes. This is what it says in the invitation that the “Correctiv” research group has received. Another item on the agenda: a “strategy concept in the sense of a master plan”. The “chances of getting our country back on a normal and healthy course” are “as great as before”. One can assume that, among other things, the AfD’s high poll numbers play a role in this assessment.

“Correctiv” published photos of the participants’ meeting in Potsdam and reconstructed the alleged content of the meeting using “reliable sources”. Accordingly, the IB man is said to have presented a “master plan” for “remigration”. He envisages “reversing the settlement of foreigners”. Asylum seekers, foreigners with the right to remain and “unassimilated citizens” should leave Germany.

The star was unable to verify “Correctiv’s” research in detail. According to its own information, the research alliance documented the meeting with several cameras from outside, and a reporter was also on site in the hotel undercover and with a hidden camera. Documents proving the meeting were also leaked to the journalists.

“Remigration” plans presented?

“Basically, the thought games on this day all boil down to one thing: people should be able to be expelled from Germany if they supposedly have the wrong skin color or origin,” says “Correctiv”. “That would be an attack on the Basic Law – on citizenship and on the principle of equality.” And: “What is being drafted there this weekend is nothing less than an attack on the constitution of the Federal Republic.”

There was no contradiction to this idea in the group, only doubts about its feasibility. The brains behind the plans countered that a “high pressure” had to be put on people to adapt, “for example through ‘tailor-made laws’”. The AfD parliamentary group leader added that living in Saxony-Anhalt “should be as unattractive as possible for this clientele.” The participants confronted by “Correctiv” essentially denied having discussed or approved unconstitutional plans.

Alice Weidel’s office confirmed when asked by star on TuesdayAlthough the speaker had taken part in the meeting, he explained: “The AfD will not change its position on immigration policy, which can be found in the party program, because of an individual opinion of a speaker at a meeting that was not an AfD date.”

The “remigration” idea also includes a “model state” in North Africa, according to the research. People should be “moved there”, including those who are committed to helping refugees in this country. Overall, the project would affect millions of people in Germany.

The IB man is quoted as saying that it is a “decade-long project”. First of all, the “climate of opinion” in Germany must be changed. To this end, a right-wing extremist counter-public must be built up, including through influencers – the collection of money should also serve this purpose.

Alice Weidel’s speaker agreed to present the project to the AfD federal executive board. “The new federal executive board, which has now been in office for a year and a half, is open to this question. We are therefore prepared to spend money and pursue issues that do not directly benefit only the party,” “Correctiv” quoted him as saying. The AfD denies it star-Inquiry that the “remigration” program had been “brought into the party”.

However, if the research is correct, it would be evidence that right-wing extremist and anti-constitutional ideas reach into the AfD leadership – the opposite of what the party leadership always publicly claims. This could be a further building block for a possible AfD ban procedure – discussed on a November weekend in Potsdam, less than eight kilometers away from the Wannsee Conference building.
