AfD and the Office for the Protection of the Constitution: Krah defends his party – politics

The party is fighting in court in Münster against its observation by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution. To relieve the AfD, EU top candidate Maximilian Krah appears, of all people. And it basically will.

South Tyrol is a force. Fantastic mountain panoramas, the rustic huts, the good food, you could list so many things, but Maximilian Krah leaves all of that aside for now. He finds something else particularly beautiful about this northern Italian province with its very close ties to its neighbors in Austria and the many German speakers. In South Tyrol, he says, they make sure to “keep South Tyrolean culture present in everyday life” and yet not discriminate against other Italian citizens there. That’s roughly how he imagines it for Germany, says Krah, the AfD’s top candidate for the European elections in June. The “German dominant culture,” as the CDU so beautifully puts it, should be preserved, which doesn’t mean putting “people of other ethnicities” in a worse position.
