Adviser Sammer extends BVB: support executive floor and Kehl

Matthias Sammer remains an external advisor to Borussia Dortmund. The former professional and master trainer of BVB has extended his contract until June 2025. This was announced by the second in the Bundesliga on Monday. The 54-year-old Sammer has been working for the Black and Yellows in this capacity since April 2018.

“I am always very happy to be able to fall back on the expertise of Matthias Sammer in many subject areas, which by the way do not only include the professional area,” explained Managing Director Hans-Joachim Watzke.

Sammer said: “I am pleased that we will continue on our common path in Dortmund in the future. Michael Zorc will leave the club in the summer after many years and I would like to do my part as an external consultant to support the management and Michael’s successor Sebastian Kehl to the best of my ability. The situation in the midst of a global pandemic is challenging. We haven’t finished our task yet, we have a lot planned for BVB. Now let’s do it.”
