Both Adi Hütter (52) and Markus Weinzierl (47) stop as coaches of Borussia Mönchengladbach and FC Augsburg. Both said so after the final whistle of the game against Hoffenheim and Fürth on the Sky microphone.
Hütter on Sky: “After many intensive minutes and discussions, we came to the conclusion that we are going our separate ways. It’s very disappointing, but we didn’t achieve what we set out to do in sport. I can only thank the club for their honesty and clarity.”
Weinzierl explained that this was his “last game”. For him it was the “right decision”.
Weinzierl informed the team of his move shortly after the final whistle. Players should be the first to know. Weinzierl pointed out that there had been no talks with the club about his future.

Manager Stefan Reuter (55) was not privy to his decision, said the former Schalke coach and showed clear cracks in the relationship. “It wasn’t planned that way,” said Weinzierl. “My heart hurts too.” He would have liked to have stayed in Augsburg for a long time.
Hütter separation at Gladbach had been indicated

“We are of the unanimous opinion that this decision is the right one for both sides,” said Borussia’s sporting director Roland Virkus in a press release that was published at the same time on the Gladbach website.
“Our task now is to draw conclusions from the processing of the season and to initiate the appropriate measures in order to start preparing for the new season in a new constellation at the end of June.” The two assistant coaches too Christian Peintinger and Armin Reutershahn will no longer work for Borussia.
