This means that the track has sold better than all the other Top Ten songs put together. As the Daily Mail writes, Adele’s new release is expected to have the best first week of sales of the year. The number 1 position in the British singles charts should not be to be taken from the singer next Friday.

Adele triumphs on Spotify

Adele also set a new record on Spotify: like the streaming platform announced via Twitter, never before has a song been accessed as many times in a day as “Easy On Me”. By noon on Monday, the song had already been accessed 40 million times.

The associated music video was played even more frequently: YouTube recorded more than 70 million hits in the same period. The clip, shot in black and white, was shot in Canada and shows the 33-year-old leaving an empty house, taking the suitcase and driving away in the car, passing a “Sold” sign. The musician broke up with her husband shortly after the wedding in 2019.

Adele is also breaking records in other areas: At the beginning of October, she was the first person to appear on the cover of both the American and British offshoots of “Vogue”. So it looks like Adele didn’t hurt the long break. And so the expectations are already huge when it comes to their new album: “30” is due to be released on November 19th of this year – just in time for the Christmas business. Anything but further sales records would be a surprise.
