After a long absence, Adele has returned with new music. The inspiration for her album “30” was the divorce from ex-husband Simon Konecki, as she reveals.
Already in her first single from the new album “30”, “Easy on me”, Adele grants an insight into her soul life. “Go easy on me, baby / I was still a child / Didn’t get the chance to / Feel the world around me,” sings the Briton.
Adele talks about her divorce
The lyrics are related to her separation from Simon Konecki, Adele explained that herself. Her inspiration was the divorce, the exceptional artist revealed in an Instagram livestream. In an interview with Jamie Theakston on “Heart Radio”, Adele spoke again about time.
The separation and subsequent divorce from Konecki, who is also the father of her son Angelo, did not come as a surprise to her, she said. “It was overdue, but it was exhausting and it was really hard work. But I was able to take the time I needed, which is not something everybody can take for granted. The more you put it off, the worse it gets and I had it Postponed for years anyway, “she revealed to the show’s moderators.
Inspiration for her album
“So now I’m completely relaxed. I’d say it’s worth kneeling in the shit, it’s worth it,” she joked. The result is an album full of heartbreak, with which she would also like to answer the countless press reports about her and her life. “For my part, I’ve learned a lot in the past few years, more than ever. There’s a reason I’m one of the most complicated, complex people I’ve ever met in my life, and I’m a little understanding of that came closer, “she explained in the interview.
It is not the first time that Adele has musically processed a love affair. Her three other albums, “19”, “21” and “25” were also about breakups, cheating and heartbreak. It was not without reason that some fans reacted with joy to the news in spring 2019 that Adele was getting a divorce.
