Superstar Adele is coming to Germany and Munich is building a stadium specifically for the singer: This is what fans can expect at the concert event in the summer.

There has been Munich has put in a lot of effort to convince Adele: the British singer is coming to the Bavarian capital for four concerts in the summer. Like her on Instagram wrote, she actually had no plans to perform in Europe besides her Las Vegas show and concerts in London. But an offer came from Munich that she couldn’t refuse.

The city wants to build a pop-up stadium on the exhibition grounds especially for Adele. Everything tailored to the specific requirements of your show. “I was too curious not to surrender to the idea – a one-of-a-kind, bespoke stadium designed to my specifications for the show? Practically in the middle of Europe? In Munich? Ok, that’s a bit random but still fabulous!” said Adele happily.

Munich should improve the concept for Adele concerts

There have been rumors about this for a long time, and it was only on Tuesday evening that she finally agreed. The superstar will be in Munich on two weekends in August, playing two concerts each. It is the first time Adele has performed in mainland Europe since 2016. Around 80,000 fans will be able to listen to the singer’s hits every evening in the specially built open-air stadium. There should be a combination of seating and standing areas. It is an advantage that Munich has already gained experience with major events of this kind in the past: mega concerts by Helene Fischer, Andreas Gabalier and Robbie Williams have already taken place on the site in the past.

According to the “Süddeutsche Zeitung”, Florian Wiedner from Munich will once again be responsible for the design of the giant stage; he had already successfully implemented the shows by Fischer and Co. in 2022. The stadium will have a diameter of around 300 meters. And the organizers Live Nation and Leutgeb Entertainment Group hope that it won’t just be the four shows. “Ten appointments have been reserved, with the option of eleven,” revealed Munich economics officer Clemens Baumgärtner, CSU, to the “Süddeutsche Zeitung”. Adele’s commitment is a blessing for tourism in the city.

However, it probably wasn’t easy to get the project approved by the city administration and the trade fair. Because after the mega concerts in 2022 there was criticism from the police and authorities. The security concept was submitted too late and there should be more folders in the future. And the route to the site and back also needs to be improved, also with a view to the timing of public transport.
