Doctors have given Prince Andrew’s ex-wife a positive prognosis after undergoing cancer surgery. She had previously spent several days in a clinic.

Britain’s Prince Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson, has undergone surgery for breast cancer. According to a spokesman for the 63-year-old British media, the mother of Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie received the diagnosis after a routine examination in the evening.

“The Duchess is receiving the best medical care possible and her doctors have given her a positive prognosis. She is now recovering with her family,” the spokesman said.

As the newspaper “Sun” reported, Ferguson spent several days in a clinic and was released today. There was already speculation because the enthusiastic equestrian athlete had been absent from the Ascot racing spectacle. According to The Sun, “Fergie” talks about her condition on her podcast. The new episode was supposed to be out last Thursday, but it was delayed until after the operation.

Breast cancer is reportedly the fourth leading cause of death in the UK. 11,500 women and 85 men die from it every year.

Andrew, a brother of King Charles III, and Ferguson divorced in 1996 but have been living together again in an estate at Windsor Castle since 2008.
