Adam Tooze: “I think the image of the sick man is exaggerated” – Business

It’s nine o’clock in the morning in New York, where Adam Tooze teaches history at Columbia University. So it’s still pretty early for an interview about the state of the world in general and Germany as a location in particular. Tooze, 56 years old, starts off with a bit of monosyllables and is very quiet – but then he picks up speed. And advises Germans to be less nostalgic. “Germany will only become a little more normal with a little de-industrialization,” he says. Does everyone see it that way?
