Adam Sandler’s (55) new film project becomes a family affair. For the Netflix adaptation of the teen novel You Are SO Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah! the actor stands in front of the camera with his wife Jackie (47) and their daughters Sadie (16) and Sunny (13), as “Variety” reports. Idina Menzel (51, “Frozen”), who played Sandler’s wife in “Uncut Gems”, can also be seen in the new Netflix film.

A bar mitzvah that doesn’t go according to plan

“You Are SO Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah!” is a 2005 novel by Fiona Rosenbloom. The book is about 13-year-old Jewish girl Stacey Friedman, who is about to celebrate her bar mitzvah. She has everything planned for her big day, but her dreams seem to be dashed when she catches her best friend making out with her crush.

Sarah Sherman (29, “Saturday Night Live”), Luis Guzmán (65, “Carlito’s Way”) and Ido Mosseri (44, “Don’t mess with the Zohan”) were also cast in the film. Sammi Cohen (“Crush”) directs.
