The Austrian actress Heidelinde Weis has died at the age of 83. She was known to a wide audience primarily through her appearances in TV productions such as “Derrick”, “Der Alte”, “Traumschiff” and “Schwarzwaldklinik”.
But her real love was the theater. She appeared on stages in Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Munich, among others. At the Salzburg Festival she was seen alongside Klaus Maria Brandauer. As a singer she was honored with the German Record Prize in 1976.
Weis came from Villach in the Austrian state of Carinthia, but spent almost her entire professional life in Germany. In recent years she has returned to her homeland.
