Christina Rainer plays the pathologist in the crime series “Der Alte”. A conversation about strange smells, humorous screenplays and the loved one who goes missing.

The ZDF crime series “Der Alte” has existed since 1977. The first “Alter” was Siegfried Lowitz. The second, Rolf Schimpf, played the role when he was more than 80 years old. Christina Rainer, 52, has been the pathologist Franziska Sommerfeld since 2013 – and in the series the partner of the current “old man” Richard Voss, who is played by Jan-Gregor Kremp. Kremp recently announced his departure from the series. He will be replaced by Thomas Heinze in 2023.
