Actor Ralf Wolter († 95) died

He was a legend in the Karl May world. The film and television actor Ralf Wolter is dead.

This was confirmed by his wife on Friday in Munich. Wolter was 95 years old.

Among other things, he became known through several Karl May films and was a popular guest star in many television crime thrillers. His most famous sentence in numerous Winnetou films: “If I’m not wrong…” Is still cult today. With Wolter, the Karl may universe loses one of its last great heroes. As the odd Westman “Sam Hawkens” he provided the funny moments in the cinema films. Wolter was born in Berlin and experienced the last days of the war as a young man. Wolter came from a circus and artist family and began his acting training shortly after the war.

He was an actor until 2012 and played in more than 200 productions. Also in serious roles like “Tatort”. In 2002, Wolter was responsible for a serious traffic accident with several fatalities during a risky turning maneuver on a freeway and was sentenced to probation. He then withdrew from the public a little and spent the last few years with his wife in Munich. About the time back then, he once said to BILD: “I hope that grass can grow even over such bad moments at some point. I regret my mistakes.”
