Many people find wearing masks restrictive or disruptive during the corona pandemic. However, actor Bjarne Mädel has discovered an advantage in corona masks.

Actor Bjarne Mädel (“Murder with a View”) can, according to his own account, see something good in wearing a mask in the corona pandemic.

With the mouth and nose protection, he was less addressed, said Mädel on Tuesday evening at the Rostock University of Music and Theater (HMT). There he answered questions from director Andreas Dresen (“Rabiye Kurnaz against George W. Bush”, “Gundermann”) in the “hmt: Focus Film” series of events. But everyone who plays in a television series has to live with that. There is a certain notoriety involved. “If you don’t want that at all, you have to stay at the theater,” said the 54-year-old.

In his five years at the Hamburg Schauspielhaus, he was only approached once by a woman in the supermarket. That is fundamentally different with a TV series like “Murder with a View”, which is also constantly repeated: “People know you and ask “Where is Uschi”.»

Mädel, who also worked at the Rostock Volkstheater from 1996 to 1999, also reported on the preparations for his role as Schotty in the series “The Crime Scene Cleaner”. A real crime scene cleaner advised him not to go to real crime scenes or where dead people were found. He said: “These are impressions and smells that you will never get rid of.”

This crime scene cleaner is a person with a big heart and great openness who sees himself as a social worker. He believes that people who have just lost a loved one shouldn’t have to clean up their remains as well. He could take that away from them while they mourn, Mädel reported.
