The actor had gotten into the conversation for a politician post. Now Matthew McConaughey has a different idea.

Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey (“Dallas Buyers Club”) has canceled his proposed candidacy for governor of Texas.

“It’s a humble and inspiring way to think about. It’s also a path that I don’t want to go at the moment, “said the 52-year-old in a video on his Twitter profile. Instead of running for the post, he wanted to continue supporting entrepreneurs, companies and foundations, organizations that served and prospered at the same time. “It’s the American Dream,” he said.

McConaughey was born and raised in the US state of Texas. In March, he had gotten into the conversation for a candidacy. This is a “serious consideration”, he said as a guest on the podcast “The Balanced Voice”. He’s thinking about what to do with the next chapter in his life. “I think I have a lot to teach and share.” At the end of last year, the actor had also indicated in an interview that he could well imagine switching to politics.
