It’s never too late to propose marriage: Dieter Hallervorden wants to say yes to his partner.

The actor, cabaret artist and theater director Dieter Hallervorden (86) is getting married in the summer. He had made an application to his partner Christiane Zander, he confirmed to media reports on Monday.

He gathered all his courage. He proposed to her over the roofs of Berlin. “Of course on your knees,” said Hallervorden. “We’re both looking forward to it,” he said in the presence of his future wife in Dessau-Roßlau. “I’m happy,” she said, beaming. The wedding party will be celebrated in June in the adjoining rooms of the Schlosspark Theater Berlin – “with all our employees,” said Hallervorden.

It won’t be a big celebrity party. “But there are people there that we like and with whom we work,” said Hallervorden. According to the information, he has been with Christiane Zander for more than seven years. She is about 30 years younger than the actor and has worked as a stuntwoman.

In autumn, Hallervorden fulfills another heart’s desire. In Dessau-Roßlau he opens his “Central German Theater in the Marienkirche”. Hallervorden runs two theaters in Berlin. He was born in Dessau and is an honorary citizen of the city with the world-famous Bauhaus Dessau. The “Bild am Sonntag” had previously reported on the wedding plans.
