He became known as detective inspector Henry Johnson in “The Old Man”: Now the actor Charles M. Huber, who grew up in Lower Bavaria, is coming back with a Passau crime thriller.

The actor Charles M. Huber (67) can be seen again on German television after a break of many years. In the ARD crime thriller “Gier nach Gold” from Passau, the former TV crime commissioner will celebrate his comeback on February 1st – and speak the dialect. “It’s a bit like coming home. Back to the roots. I grew up in Lower Bavaria,” the actor told the magazine “Bunte”.

Huber became known as detective inspector Henry Johnson in the ZDF crime series “Der Alte”. He later sat for four years in the Bundestag for the CDU. He now lives in Ibiza, he told “Bunte”. “In Ibiza you can still feel a bit of the hippie culture of the 60s and 70s: live and let live is the trademark of the island. At 67, Ibiza is the perfect place for me.”
