According to Gabriel Attal, 55 letters of disapproval from the rectorate to parents “seem to raise questions”

This was not an isolated case. Implicated in after the suicide of a young person in Poissy and the revelation of a parent about the touching suffered by his daughter, the Versailles rectorate was clearly not at its first attempt according to the Minister of National education, Gabriel Attal. This Monday, during a press point organized after a meeting with the rector, the minister indicated that a large part of the letters of disapproval sent to families last year “raise questions”.

Justified letters?

“What I can tell you at this stage, based on the information communicated to me, is that over the 2022-2023 school year, 120 so-called “disapproval” letters were sent,” detailed the minister.

“Fifty-five of them seem to be asking questions. And obviously work will continue to identify what led to the sending of these letters, and whether it was justified to send them or not,” he explained after a meeting with the rector of the academy. of Versailles.

This meeting followed the revelation of a letter with a threatening tone, sent by the rectorate to the parents of Nicolas, a teenager who subsequently committed suicide in Poissy (Yvelines) after being the victim of school harassment.
