A German motorcyclist from Baden-Württemberg survived a fall into a 45 meter deep ravine in Austria. As the police announced, the 53-year-old came to the scene Accident on Friday in the state of Vorarlberg resulted in minor injuries.

The woman and her partner were riding their motorcycles on a winding mountain road near Au when the driver slipped her vehicle in a left-hand bend on a bridge for an unknown reason and crashed into the bridge wall. She was thrown from her motorcycle and fell about ten meters down an embankment. She then slid over the steep terrain into the approximately 45 meter deep gorge below the bridge.

The partner climbed down to help his partner. Both were rescued by mountain rescue with a crane. The woman, who comes from the Karlsruhe district, was flown to a hospital.
