Deadly force of nature: A violent storm sweeps through southern Poland – trees become a trap. Two children and three adults die.

In heavy storms are in In Poland, five people were killed by falling trees. In the town of Rabka-Zdroj in the south of the country, three people died, including a six-year-old child, a spokesman for the local fire department told the PAP news agency.

In the well-known mountain sports resort of Zakopane, a tree in front of a church fell on a nine-year-old child and his mother. The child was taken to a hospital and died from his injuries. Also in Zakopane, a tree fell on a car, killing the driver.

Because of the strong gusts of wind, the fire brigade had to go on more than 140 missions in the southern Poland region. Numerous roads were blocked by fallen trees.
