The child is now fighting for his life in a clinic. It is unclear how the accident could have happened.

After a swimming accident in Bochum, a ten-year-old boy is fighting for his life. He was found lifeless at a depth of three meters by divers in the afternoon Ruhr was pulled, as a spokesman for the fire brigade in Bochum said in the evening.

The child was resuscitated for a long time and then came to a clinic. At first there was also the suspicion that another child could have gone under in the river. However, this fear was not confirmed. A police helicopter with a thermal imaging camera was also used to search the Ruhr.

The fire brigade spokesman could not provide any information on the exact circumstances of the accident and whether the boy could swim or not. The relatives of the child who had an accident were cared for on site by an emergency pastor. The accident happened not far from an old railway and pedestrian bridge.
