A year ago, Hollywood actor Baldwin accidentally shot and killed camerawoman Hutchins while filming. Now he has reached an agreement with their family: your widower will be the producer of the film, which is due to be completed in 2023.
Hollywood star Alec Baldwin has reached an out-of-court settlement with the family of the deceased after the fatal shooting of camerawoman Halyna Hutchins during a western shoot. Baldwin announced this on Instagram. “We are grateful to all those who helped resolve this tragic and painful situation.” Baldwin explained that everyone was always concerned with what was best for Hutchin’s son.
Filming resumes
Hutchin’s widower Matthew, who sued Baldwin and other producers of the western ‘Rust’ in February, said the film should now finish shooting in January 2023. He himself will be the producer of the western, and the lawsuit will be withdrawn. According to US media reports, Hutchins will receive a portion of the film’s earnings. The agreement still has to be approved by a court.
In October 2021, Baldwin accidentally shot and killed 42-year-old cinematographer Hutchins with a prop gun while filming the low-budget western Rust in the state of New Mexico. The revolver was apparently loaded with at least one real bullet. It is not yet clear how this could have happened.
A number of civil lawsuits have been filed over the fatal shooting. Authorities have not yet filed any charges against those involved. However, the public prosecutor has not ruled out that this could still happen.
