Horror accident near Leipzig: Three people died as a result of an overtaking maneuver by a 64-year-old driver.
Three people died in a serious traffic accident as a result of an overtaking maneuver in the Leipzig district. A 64-year-old driver overtook two trucks in a VW and drove into oncoming traffic, according to a police spokeswoman Leipzig announced.
According to the information, a first car was able to avoid the accident site near Elstertrebnitz to the Saxony-Anhalt state border, but a Trabant driving behind collided head-on with the car. The Trabant therefore caught fire. It was said that the three occupants died at the scene of the accident. The 64-year-old driver of the VW was also injured.
