In Upper Bavaria, two young people died independently of each other in water over the weekend. The exact background is still unclear.

Two young people died at the weekend in the Altmühl in Eichstätt and in the Walchenklamm near Lenggries in Bavaria. Both had met friends and, according to witnesses, suddenly disappeared, as the police in Ingolstadt and Rosenheim announced today.

The Klamm case

The body of a 15-year-old was recovered from a pool in the Walchenklamm yesterday evening. The man from Munich was there with three companions for a picnic and for swimming. According to the information, the three companions suddenly no longer saw him and called the police.

The crew of a police helicopter finally saw the 15-year-old lifeless in the water, the police said. Kripo Weilheim and the Munich II public prosecutor’s office have taken over the investigation. The cause of death was initially unclear.

The Altmühl case

On Saturday evening, a 15-year-old disappeared in the Altmühl in Eichstätt. A witness saw the youth apparently trying to cross the river on foot, police said. When he didn’t get to the other side, the witness dialed 911.

After an unsuccessful search on Saturday evening, the search was continued on Sunday and the youth’s body was recovered in the afternoon. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
