Six people were seriously injured in an accident on Autobahn 6 near Schnelldorf in the Ansbach district. According to a police spokesman, a man drove his truck off the road in the direction of Nuremberg early Monday morning and broke through the central barrier. The truck struck an oncoming car and then crashed into another truck. The car skidded and hit a guardrail.
Rescue workers took the injured to hospitals, helicopters were also used. The freeway was completely closed in both directions. “There are significant traffic delays. We ask the drivers to drive around the scene of the accident,” said the spokesman. The rescue will take several hours. The cause was initially unclear.
